The newest addition to the Simmons-Boardman family is Bar Business Magazine, a start-up publication launched in late 2008 as the premier “How-To” B2B periodical for the nightlife industry. Reaching a subscriber base of over 30,000 owners and operators of bars and nightclubs nationwide, Bar Business educates proprietors on various ways of improving their business via educational articles, venue profiles, and ownership features.

Helmed by Editor-in-Chief Ashley Bray and a knowledgeable staff of industry contributors, its first full year of publication in 2009 saw Bar Business Magazine nominated for numerous awards, including the American Business Media’s “Best Start-Up Publication,” the Silver Azbee Award of Excellence for “New Publication Design” from the American Society of Business Publication Editors, and min Magazine’s “Sales Executive of the Year” for Associate Publisher Art Sutley. Ashley has extensively covered a number of industry topics, including new technology, POS systems, bar equipment, and beverage trends and current events. She has led panel discussions and interviewed CEOs, brand ambassadors, and association directors. She has a particular affinity for telling the unique stories of bar owners and operators.
